Principal's Message
Welcome, Rough Riders!
Symsonia Elementary School is the “Best in the West.” Our educators are top-notch and are excited to embark on a new adventure with all of our former and new students and families. At Symsonia, our Rough Riders will embrace opportunities, unite in academic excellence, and work together to create a student-centered environment. We will support each other, and our students will reach their highest potential as lifelong learners. Our educators will foster a community that grows and collaborates with ease.
Our core values are wrangling opportunities, roping resilience, lassoing legacies, and saddling up for success. Returning to our roots, we will achieve greatness by partnering and collaborating with one another, regardless of our roles.
We hold high expectations for all members of our school community. Safety, ownership, achievement, and respect are the Graves County expectations that we must uphold to create a positive and successful learning environment for everyone. By following our SOAR expectations, students will earn DOJO points that can be spent at the Red Rider Store throughout the year. More detailed information about our SOAR expectations is in your child’s red folder.
Arrival to School
We will begin welcoming car riders to school at 7:05 a.m. We will welcome bus riders to school at 7:15 a.m. Students who arrive after 7:25 a.m. are considered tardy and must be signed in at the front office by a parent/guardian. Students will be allowed THREE total tardies per nine weeks. After that, consultation with the administration will occur.
Dismissal from School
We will dismiss school at 2:30 p.m. This year, car riders will exit the building by the cafeteria doors. Car tags must be displayed in the window for quick, safe, and efficient pick-up.
School Safety
Visitors will be allowed into the building to eat lunch with their children. We also invite you to attend performances and assemblies. All visitors must show a photo ID and sign in at the front desk before entering the main building. If you want to volunteer at Symsonia, please contact our Family Resource Center Coordinator, Jasey Harper, at (270)-328-4860.
If you have transportation changes, please send a handwritten note or contact the front office before 1:30. You may send a note or email to tina.gamble@graves.kyschools.us. Please contact the school if you do not receive a response to the email. Phone (270) 674-4860 or (270) 328-4860. Written notes must be turned in each day for a transportation change. These will be sent to Mrs. Tina or your child’s homeroom teacher before dismissal.
Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your child’s life. Symsonia Elementary School is blessed to have you in attendance at our school. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me via email, or ParentSquare. Together, we will ensure success for your child.
Respectfully,
Michele Franklin
Symsonia Elementary, Principal
